I do not know of a tour operator on Nevis but you should be able to arrange a tour with a taxi upon your arrival at the ferry dock in Nevis. You may try contacting TC at the following website: nevistaxiandtours.com

I'll try that. We realize that we can take the ferry over but weren't too wild about just grabbing whatever taxi happens to be available when we get there.

TC will do a great job. met her several years ago.

Paul,

What is there to see on Nevis? We were really thinking of going more to say that we had been to Nevis since it's so close but I would much rather see/do something interesting.

Thanks for your help!

Does anyone know of a tour operator who does tours of Nevis?

We will be in St. Kitts on the Summit in January. We've already toured St. Kitts and so thought we'd try to go to Nevis this time.

Thanks!

Like you Icmslady I'm doing a second visit to St. Kitts. Since Nevis is so close and my ship is in port for quite a bit of time, I also wanted to tour Nevis.

I came across info on Caribbean journeymasters quite a few pages back on this board. I sent and e-main about the Nevis highlight tour they are offering. It sounds great and I went ahead a booked.

The tour is $100 per person. They offer a meet and greet at the cruise ship dock. Paid transfers roundtrip on the ferry to Nevis. A tour guide in an a/c mini van on the island of Nevis to the major sites and a short beach stop.

The tour is about five hours.

I will post a review with pictures on my return to offer more info since so little is on board.

I can understand wanting to make pre arrangements prior to arriving. I was at first going to just wing it, but decided that I would rather have some form of stuff in place ahead of time.

Airlink Diva,

A review would be great - I'll also check into Caribbean Journeymasters.

This is why I love Cruise Critic - everyone has so much info and without this site, I wouldn't have a clue where to start or who to trust.

Have a great time - I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

I highly recommend a tour of Nevis with Randy Jeffers. He also includes lunch at his beach bar on beautiful Pinney's Beach.

Does he have a website? How do you contact him?

What did it cost and where did he meet you?

Sorry about all the questions

Well I'm back Lcmslady!!

I will say overall Caribbean Journeymasters did an excellent job. The only negative was the time that my ship was in port. Due to an all aboard time of 4:30 p.m., I had to catch the 1:00 p.m. ferry back. This only gave me less than three hours.

Nevis was a totally different vibe from St. Kitts and I would love to spend more time to explore.

I came off the ship early to meet with Caribbean Journeymasters. I saw someone in their logo shirt. I went to the young man to see if he was my contact. He's wasn't (he was there for another tour on St. Kitts), but he still called his manager and escorted me to a van to take me to the ferry.

At the ferry, he paid my fare and gave me the contact name for Nevis and assured me that I would be met at the dock.

The ride over was about 45 minutes and great photo ops.

When arriving, I was met by the contact and escorted to Mr. Earl, my taxi guide for the day.

Mr. Earl was wonderful and tried to give me a great overview of Nevis with my very limited time.

I managed to visit Alexander Hamiliton home, the mineral springs area, drive thru most of the parishes, a stop and pic of the front of the gardens, a sugar plantation, a view of the wind power and a few of the older churches. I also made a quick stop to buy some hot sauces.

If you love art, the work at the Alexander Hamliton home was priced very well and alot better than the other areas.

Like I stated, having to catch the 1:00 p.m. ferry really limit my time. I met two couples from the Carnival ship in port with us and they also were catching the 1:00 p.m.

There is another ferry service, but it was not running on a full schedule that time.

Once I got back to St. Kitts, I had someone to meet me at the pier and they took me back my taxi to the port area.

I was pleased with using Caribbean Journeymasters. You can do it on your own, but since I was traveling solo, I wanted something set up.

If I head back to St. Kitts and have more time, I would head over to Nevis again.

I'm still working on my photos and will post them with the next few days.

Nevis IS quite different than St Kitts. Way back in '92 we rented a villa for a week .It was up the hill from Zetlands Plantation which was hammered by Hugo in 1989. We always try to get over to Nevis for a day or two when we are in St Kitts.

Interesting... I just got an email back saying that the same highlight tour is $110. It also does not include lunch for that price. They have another tour as well, here's what they emailed -

The Catamaran Sail Snorkel Lunch and Nevis is costed at US$110.00. Meet and Greet at 9am, sail time 930am return 415pm. (includes lunch) I wonder about the differences!
