househunter Posted September 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Where does one purchase wine in Cabo & Mazatlan within walking distance of the tender dock? Thanks. There is a great wine shop in Cabo, Tutte Benne that is very close to the tender dock. Just head toward town until you get to the huge Tesoro resort (about a 3 minute walk- you can't miss it, it has a big lighthouse out front). Go thru their lobby and it is just across the street to the left. Huge selection and great prices for the Mexican and Chilean wines. Of course if you are buying American or other imported wines, they are much more expensive. We are very happy with both the Chilean reds and whites and there are quite a few excellent Mexican chardonnays.
bobnsofi Posted September 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Cabo has many wine shopping options right off the tender pier Mazatlan is an industrial port, with shrimp being the most popular choice for walking distance shopping. Mmmm... shrimp cooked for ya... for under $4lb Puerto Vallarta has Sam's Club right at the cruise pier (no membership needed for cruisers)
AzCruiseGurl Posted September 10, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Can you carry wine back on board??
bobnsofi Posted September 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Most all cruise lines will let you check it in, when you board from a port visit, and give it back to you the last night (same for knives, swords, candles, etc.). As for taking wine purchased in port to your cabin; mostly no. Check with your cruise line, some yes, some no. Some have a corkage policy. There are also limits, like 3 liters per person (not sure on the 3 liters)
