last minute discount for the legend???

I am hoping we(family of 4) are able to go a cheapy cruise from NYC. We can not afford too much this year for vacation due to my dd communion this may. We would like to go in July or the 1st week of August. We can travel any of these weeks at a moments notice. We are not picky and will stay in an inside cabin in a low deck. I know that you can't just show up at the dock hoping their is availablity.

I have a couple of questions for people who went on the legend from NY.

What was the best price I should expect?

Who/What travel companies offer last minute deals?

Do you think that I can go for a great deal?

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I can't picture a cheap cruise out of NYC. LOL Especially in the summer months. But you never know! We can't list travel companies so just start searching. Good luck.

Make sure you request brochures from CCL, RCI, Princess and NCL on-line and if there is a box for being able to cruise last minute make sure you check it off. I'm getting e-mails for summer sailing sales, but not from NYC. Do a search for last minute travel, you never know :)

thanks for your advice in getting brochures. We went on a last minute 5 night cruise to canada in 2003 (July). It was ridiculously cheap. We paid $1600 for this trip. Not to bad for a family of 4.

We are still going to hold out hope for another cheapy.
