Hi All!

Just got off the boat today, and thought I would share some of my likes and dislikes about the ship and my trip. Feel free to ask any questions.

Likes

1. Port Canaveral did a really good job on embarkation, from Terminal to the ship, only took 30 mins. We were there at around 11:30.

2. Pasta Bar - It's a great idea, we when straight up during first day before we waited for our cabins. The lines get long during the week as people discovered it.

3. Cove Balaconices - We were at cabin number 2341. Absolutlely love it. The privacy, the waterline, I would definitely do it again if it's available on other ships.

4. Bingo - They are not pushy about the Bingo, and not a lot of session or overhyped. When I was in Norwegian a year ago, the Bingo anouncement got so annoying, and the multi cards, power machines bingo costing more than $60 to play for a session is just too much.

5. Waterslide - Was great fun. Line wasn't too long. Love the funnel when you spins in a few circle after you were out the slides.

6. Minigolf - Fairly good course, consider we are on a ship. Only drawback is the ran out of golf balls constantly, so we tried asking several times and finally decide to wait by the towel desk for about 15 mins to to the minigolf.

7. Chefs Table - Great experience! Felt exclusive, expecially when they hold one elevator with a Chef Table guest sign waiting for us, as we transition from the Song Bar down to the Galley. We a small portion for 4 hors d'oevres and 7 courses. They added up and we were constanty complaining about walking around after a few courses, cuz we were getting full already. My boyfriend loves the Pumpkin Butter Chef Soumen prepared for us. We don't drink much, but it's well worth the experience for $75.

8. Dancing on the street - It's really entertaining. We are usually not into dance shows and such, but the show was full of suprises. I would urge everyone to go see it.

Dislikes

1. Laswer Shows - was kindda lame, we were not impress after the first night.

2. Seaside Theater - We enjoyed the movies, the big screen and the sea breeze, but due to its location, we had some rowdy people by the pool bar and making so much noises, we can hardly hear anything. Unfortunately that is a public space, not a real theater, so doesn't feel right to tell those people to go somewhere or keep it low.

3. Hallway outside of our Cabin - from time to time it smells like sewage. The room itself is fine, just the hallway. When we ask our room sterward, he just pretend he didn't smell anything.

4. No Gala Buffet -One of the thing I enjoy in most cruises will have the food displays which we enjoyed everytime. But there's none on this sailing.

5. Night Entertainment - Was very limited. Out of 7 nights, the Carnival Dancers performed 3 nights and 1 night was the Guests show. There was only 1 juggling show, and the Comedians which performed between the comedy club time and in Encore. While 1-2 comedians were funny, but we can only hear him talk about jokes for so many times. After a while, it gets boring. I wished they would at least have 1 more other variety of shows.

7. the crowd - while it's not as crowded as a lot of people has been saying, but we do notice they need more public spaces. We also noticed we have a younger crowd in this sailing, with most in there late 30s and 40s. We did bump into a handful of obnoxious and rude people - I am not sure if there has anything to do with the price and the so call class of people as discussed in the other thread. While this is not in controlled by Carnival, we did wish people with more and better common sense on the ship.

8. MDR Dress Code- We noticed a lot of flip flops, shorts, short jeans, tank tops all over MDR. I wished they would enfore the dress code better.

9. and the last one - This is absolutely a big NO NO! How dare they kick me off the ship this morning! Carnival will sure hear about it :D

In conclusion - we had a pretty enjoyable time, but if it wasn't the fact that we have a balc cabin which we get to spend more time, it would be quite boring to be on the ship from time to time. I don't mind giving Carnival another try, but would probably experiment another cruise line, to shell out more money to see if the so call class is there. Don't get me wrong, we did have a good time and enjoy the ship very much, but there's definitely place to improve.

I am not a good writer, but hope this will help some people out.

Thanks Carol. Funny to see your cabin number, as we have the adjoining cabin 2345 booked for Feb. 26th! Our two sons, 18 & 15, will have the interior room right in front of ours - 2347. When I booked the Cove it was because of the lower price and I was a little worried but I'm so pleased to read all the positive reviews about the cove balconies! My husband wanted nothing else, I was the one who was worried. Thanks again for the review.

You will not be disappointed with your cove balcony. And a word of warning, if you plan to join the balcony club, becareful of the security camera :) A couple in the marriage show revealed about the cove balcony club experience, Butch the director said it's probably on tape in the security camera LOL!

We were two cabins down from you in 2349 and we didn't see you much

Sewage smell was definintely there and on Thursday night it really stunk

We found the buffet area, pools ridiculously crowded. We thought they didn't have very good hours for the buffet for eating which made other food venues very long lines. Plenty of places to lay out just not around either pool unless you got lucky

8. MDR Dress Code- We noticed a lot of flip flops, shorts, short jeans, tank tops all over MDR. I wished they would enfore the dress code better.

We had ATD and we had the "joy" of sitting next to one lady who showed up in her jammies and I am not kidding, slippers from cloud 9 and all.

Nice to meet you at the Meet and Greet can't believe we never ran into each other again.

Woa! thanks for the heads up! I guess it's not so private after all??? Can you actually see the cameras? I can understand using cameras around the ship but on balconies? really?

I think there's few of them on each side of the ship. The primary purpose is to make sure no one went overboard. I believe they are all hanging by the lifeboat.

I had this exact cabin this past April. Great location, and ABSOLUTELY adored the Cove Balcony.

Enjoy !!

Thanks Carol - forgot to ask about the noise level in the cabin - given that it's a connecting cabin. I've heard that the walls were thin! how was your experience?

Our neighbors were quiet. No noises from galley or anything. The room is also located half between two elevators, one take you right at the casino and the upper dream street as well as the gathering up in Lido deck, which is quite convenient, and the other connect directly to the crimson dining room.

The only noise that annoy us was the picture hanging above the bed. it rattles at night, we have to slip towel or something behind it to stop the noise. But no big deal.

Wow - thanks! When I booked the Cove directly with Carnival, the lady I was talking to didn't seem to sure about the Cove - she was saying "you must understand, this balcony is carved out of the hull of the ship" and there's metal around it...." I was not sure but my hubby said he wanted it, so I agreed! seems like a very good decision!

Thanks again, I'm Joanne too!

Thanks Carol. Maybe I'll just bring something to help that....now I'm having visions of it falling on me lol............unless it's bolted lol...
