Cabal Pech? Please tell me about them. Thanks.

Are you able to get an excursion to the site? I hear its a short walk out from San Ignacio, which is where the excursions to Xunantunich stop for lunch, but didn't know anyone had time to stop there too. I don't think there are any facilities or visitor center there, though.

I've visited it on a land based vacation. Here are some photos:

I enjoyed it, mostly because it is less visited and we had the place to ourselves. It is not, however, as spectacular as Xunantunich or Lamanai. A visit to Cahal Pech should take less than an hour and is on the way to Xunantunich, so if you hired a private guide you might be able to see them both on the same day. It's a long way up there to only see Cahal Pech and, IMO, not worth the trip from the port to Cahal Pech unless you've completely exhausted your other options. Hope this helps.
