cruiseyj Posted September 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Hello, Does anyone have a recommendation for a private guide in Cancun area? We will be staying on the coast and want a private tour to take us to Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. Thanks!
CaroleSS Posted September 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Hello Lilyjules! Although we won't be on a cruise, we will be spending a week in Playa Del Carmen in February. We also wanted ot see Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. I read a good number of web sites and stumbled upon a fellow named Gudelio. The reviews were quite glowing so we contacted him. He responded quickly and was very nice. Here is his suggested itinerary for a visit. http://www.mayans-explorers.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=5 We will skip the cenote swim and will spend more time in Valladolid (pronounced "bah-yah-doh-leed") instead. At first glance the price seems a little high, but it does include lunch (and Mayan dancers as entertainment) and he (or one of his associates) will be your guide through both ruins (other trips I looked at suggested you pay $60 for a guide at Chichen Itza). Just a quick note - in case you ddn't already know - you can NOT climb on the ruins at Chichen Itza any more....but you CAN at Ek Balam. I certainly hope you enjoy your trip!! berge11 Posted November 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2010 Do they have a Cancun Highlights kind of tour that guarantees you get back on the ship in time? It seems hard to get any more info about their tours...
