cruznluvr Posted October 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2010 I've never been to Sargeant's Caye; but we were at Goff's Caye last week & it was amazing! My daughter & I are the first photo that shows on the belize cruise excursions website under the Goff's Caye info. We were there with Eco Tours & had a wonderful time. junglecat Posted November 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2010 How did you get to Goff's Cay? Water Taxi? What was there besides a beach? Restaurants? Shopping? THANKS!
navybaby1113 Posted November 13, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2010 We did the Goff's Cay excursion with Carnival and had a good time. We would not go to this island again though. The snorkeling was quite good, but the water was kind of rough because of boats driving around. Also, we were kind of rushed in open water because of another group. After you're done snorkeling, you had time to relax on the beach or do some more snorkeling around the island on your own. The beach had a bunch of debris and some trash on it, so we didn't spend much time there. We spend the majority of our time in the water looking at all the coral. The beach break was a lot longer than the actual time we snorkeled. Here are a few pictures if you're interested: Also, if you click on the Dream review in my siggy, I have more of a review and more pictures in there. marshhawk Posted November 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2010 We did Goff's Caye in February, and loved it. But I like places that give you that Gilligan's island feeling. No stores, shops, it's just a strip of sand with a few palm trees. There is a guy who shows up and sells wood carvings, a guy sells drinks out of a cooler, and a kid shows up and makes lobster and chicken kabobs on a grill. Yummy! We never saw any boats out there, but the one who brought us in, and one that brought in another bunch of snorkelers. Now that Bannister Island has reopened, I don't think you will see a lot of boats out there. When we sailed out of the area, and headed back out to sea, it's the last strip of sand before you get to the ocean.
