MrCo9 Posted September 15, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2010 Pro-rating from their: Minimum Maximum Minimum $5.00 $200 10.00 $300 High Limits 25.00 $500 Going from a $5 min to a $10 min you double the minimum but only get a 50% increase in the maximum. Then when you go from $5 to $25 the minimum goes up 5 times, but the max only 2.5 times. In order to take a $2,000 max, you'd have to bet a $400 minimum?? That makes no sense at all. You'd have no chance at all of getting even if you were to get stuck. Come to Las Vegas, Caesars Palace has $10 minimum tables that allow $50,000 maximum bets. RonnieD Posted September 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2010 Just off the Serenade 09/05/10. Minimum all week was $5.00 and except for I think Tuesday night and Friday night it was single odds only. We had some good tables and won every night anywhere from $45.00 to $280.00 a night. PURELUCK Posted September 16, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Thanks for the replys, one more question > has anyone asked to have the limits raised and if so is this a request to the casino host? any luck getting it raised?
sailor_jimc Posted September 16, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 16, 2010 I have seen it done on Carnival ships. I didn't ask but was playing with some guys who were playing $25 (even though the minimum was set to $5) They asked the pit boss and were allowed to have more than $200 max on the table since just to cover their pass line bets and place bets they were hitting $200 a lot. But unless you are playing a lot of money they don't tend to bother to raise the minimum. So I guess the answer to your question is - the minimum for craps tends to stay at $5 for the length of the cruise. (Though I have seen them go smaller on Black Jack and the other table games on the first night - like they have a welcome aboard night where the casino has $3 tables) I have not seen them raise the craps table to say $10. If they do that people stop playing. Not to say that other lines do have higher mins.
Jugador30 Posted September 22, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2010 I was on the Carnival Pride last week. The minimum bet for craps was $10 all week long, and the table was empty the entire week. The casino was busy every night, but the craps table sat empty. It is disappointing that the casino manager did not have enough common sense to recognize the situation and consider reducing the minimum to $5 to see if that would bring players to the table.
