Country Inn and Suites Galveston

Any comments on this hotel, it's location or cruise parking set up? Has this best price for our cruise in October. Looks like newly built hotel 07/2010. No shuttle to port, but don't think taxi would be too much. Hotel is on avenue R 1/2.

New hotel, great gulf views, across the street from the beach. Stayed in one years ago and it was very nice.

Taxis are very inexpensive, port is approximately 20 blocks.

Based on all the good reviews I read about this hotel, as well as the reasonable price, we also booked this for a night before our January cruise on Voyager. :) Thanks for the additional info, Galveston Cruiser! I wasn't sure if they had shuttle service but didn't really expect it so we'll just get a taxi to the port.

We are looking at this hotel for our stay in Feb. I sent them an email asking if they had a shuttle. The manager sent back a reply saying that at the present time they do not, but they have had lots of requests and hope to have one by January.
