Has anyone done this by train? How far is the train station from the port? Can it be walked or is taxi best? Are taxis available at the port and station for return? Sorry for all the questions, just want to be sure this is easy enough to do. Thank you in advance for your help.

The train station in La Seyne sur Mer is a very long walk from the Port (possibly 2 miles). You should take a cab to maximize your time. The train takes about 25 mins to Cassis, but the Cassis train station is also very far from the town. You will need to take a cab, although I believe there is a shuttle bus from the train station to town.

Lots of taxis are available at the Port, but are a bit more difficult to find in Cassis. In La Seyne, it is somewhat difficult to find a cab once you leave the Port. If you decide to walk and change your mind, there is also a bus you can take from the area by the marina to the train station. Unfortunately, I don't remember the bus number.
