Visa for Brazil

Have received conflicting info on visas. Perhaps someone will know.

We have passports with visa's. The problem is that we have to renew our passports before our trip to Brazil. Our visas are good for the next four years. I have been told we can still use the visa as long as we bring both passports with us. One almost expired with the visa and our new passport. Has anyone had t deal with this?

We don't want to show up at the pier and be turned away.

Thank you for your help.

In order to avoid conflicting responses, go directly to the source for more info:

Wouldn't the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate have the best answer for this?

Travel.state.gov. doesn't address this issue and the Brazilian Consulate doesn't take phone calls regarding visas.

I have sent an e-mail to the consulate and will see if they answer me.

I was hoping someone on the boards had run into this situation.

Nothing is easy.

No Problem had folks on the Mariner of the Seas FLL to Rio leg of the repo to the west coast do just as you posted. The Visa is good until it expires unlike the Chile on that is only good for the life of the PP.
