BobT172 Posted September 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2010 Hi everyone.. My wife and daughter are planning to sail on the Summit from New York on 10/24 disembarking in San Juan on 10/30. She is looking at booking flights back at 12:20PM... a few years ago, we disembarked in San Juan and faced a 3 hour wait in a security line... the airport was the worse I ever experienced...we made our 1:30PM flight with only minutes to spare.'' Does nayone have any input on SJU lately? Is the 12:20 flight doable? Can you self disembark carring your own luggage on Celebrity? Any thoughts would be appreciated. JanineM Posted September 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2010 We disembarked in San Juan in January without any problems. Our flight was at about 1:30, and we could have made the 10 am if we'd hustled just a bit! No security issues at all.
travelteach326 Posted September 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2010 Water Baby, Did you use Celebrity transfers in San Juan? Sailing November 20th and returning on November 27. We have a 11:00 flight. I was wondering if using Celebrity's transfers might be easier getting to the ship.
everbell Posted September 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2010 There are LOTS of taxis at the pier ... it is $19 plus $1 per bag. They have it really well organized ... we waited maybe 15 minutes in line and then were whisked off to the airport, rather than waiting on the transfer bus for 45 min while it filled up. ozark74 Posted September 18, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2010 We were on the Summit in March and made a 1035 flight with no problem. Would not make the flight time that early but time changed. Celebrity recommend 1100 or later dept. At AA we had no problem but our daughter was on Delta it was a mess.
librarylady19 Posted September 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2010 We are staying one night post cruise at Marriott Stellaris then flying home Sunday morning, 8:30 a.m. flight. How early would we need to get to the airport on a Sun. morning?
Rare vickykay Posted September 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2010 If you give your luggage to a porter once you get it at the terminal he will take you directly to a taxi with very little waiting - well worth the tip!

If you're a solo traveler, it might be cheaper to do the Celebrity transfers - $33.50 round trip vs. $40+ for taxi's
