cruzisme Posted September 22, 2010 #78 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Is it possible for you to take pictures of your cabins and posting them here for the rest of us to see (and live vicariously through you) as if we were on the ship too? Would love to see cabin 746 but any cabin photos would be great. Am sure seeing obstructed cabin views would be helpful too. Thanks Pia for starting this thread:)

Anthony Different pier; not the usual one. We are coming into pier 27. Seems there's a huge convention in town that has taken over the entire area with no taxi availability. Princess has hired shuttle buses. We will walk. Don't need to go to the wharf anyway. Been there; done that many times.
FritzG Posted September 22, 2010 #80 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Thanks Pia, we love your "live from" reports. It sounds like a fantastic trip. Passion was the group on our Diamond Hawaii and Alaska cruises in 2008. We really liked them, and I'm glad they're still with Princess. I tried to follow them, but you can imagine how a Google search for Passion worked out!

shellbeachjim Posted September 22, 2010 #86 Share Posted September 22, 2010 The convention is Oracle Openworld. I've read there are going to be about 45,000 attendees. It's being held at Moscone Center, but there are going to be attendees all over town - including a private concert on Treasure Island on Wednesday night. Pia, I'd come over and say hi, but work gets in the way...
ssbeagle Posted September 22, 2010 #87 Share Posted September 22, 2010 If it weren't for the date on the Patter every day I would never know what day it is. You just forget time on those cruises. Wish I was there. One of my friends from Alaska is on board and will meet up with us in Sydney. If you meet someone named Irene who loves to play trivia, Pia, say hello for us and tell her we're looking forward to our visit.
bighairtexan Posted September 22, 2010 #88 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Brad and Anthony!!! I just noticed that when you are getting off the Sapphire in November, my daughter, her fiance, my son and I will be getting on. Please leave some money in the casino and some vodka in the bars. PS: I'd gladly trade my THX cruise for a chance to hide out in your luggage for the transPacific. LUCKKKKYYYYYYYYY Sharon

cruiserjanet Posted September 22, 2010 #91 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Pia, I got your note. Thank you so much. We were in the dining room when you came by. After the dining room, we did go to the Horizon Court for our last dessert. Since I have no clue what you look like, I was looking at every lady that was wearing a black lanyard. I did see one particular lady that was wearing a black shirt with pink flowers. If that was you, I will certainly be disappointed I didn't open my mouth. This particular lady walked right by the four of us with a group of people. It sounded like they were going to the theater. Oh well, hopefully we will meet on another cruise. I will post new pictures of us (and some of our cruise) when we return. We had a very nice, albeit short, time on this cruise. Looking forward to future ones. K-Roo-Zers Posted September 22, 2010 #92 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Hi Pia, Thanks for the updates! Hope it has been smooth sailing so far. Not long until you reach Tim Tam Land! We have lots of wonderful new flavours and they are all calorie and fat free - NOT - lol! Only 31 more sleeps until we join you, and sail to LA. Met with Eileen and Clive today for a coffee. See you at the M&G. Nicki

I told him to take a walk to see the ship! We loved Richard Joseph as CD, he has a very funny wakey wake show (think that's what it's called). Pia, enjoy your two months at sea; I am so envious! How on earth can you get away for so long?
t60 Posted September 22, 2010 #94 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Hi Pia, you might like to try this...or perhaps you have already. Sandy in Spain Tim Tam Slam Opposite corners of the Tim Tam are bitten off, one end is submerged in the drink, and the drink sucked through the biscuit. The crisp inside biscuit is softened and the outer chocolate coating begins to melt. Ideally, the inside of the biscuit should collapse but the outside should remain intact long enough for the liquid to reach the mouth. Refrigerating them helps to preserve the outside coating while allowing the inside of the biscuit to melt. The thicker chocolate coating on the Double Coat Tim Tam offers a more stable structure to prevent a premature collapse.
Aussie Gal Posted September 22, 2010 #95 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Tim Tams are great though I prefer the original which is the milk chocolate one with the normal filling. There are now so many to choose from it does make it a hard decision. We always keep our chocolate biscuits in the fridge. Whilst here, try the Arnotts Chocolate Teddy Bears, they are the best of all! I have been having two for lunch for over 46 years (except when on vacation) and still love them. Pia1913 Posted September 22, 2010 Author #99 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Good Wednesday morning from San Francisco. We are almost docked at pier 27, where I can see Radiance of the Seas from my outside my window. Since we couldn't dock at 39 because of a major convention in town we're down here in another area where I expect some sort of chaos. 2000 passengers need to disembark and they expect that to go until 12:30 or later. Of course those getting on will most likely be arriving way before noon. Happy not to be among that horde of humanity. We will however get off ASAP and just meander for a few hours. We did in fact attend the show last night even though we had seen it at least twice before. New cast, new costuming and some new scenery makes it sort of new again. For those of you interested in the group Passion, they are getting off today and will be replaced by The Vintage People. Crooner's Bobby Hamilton and Rosie's Band in Wheelhouse stay on. The welcome aboard show tonight will have a ventriloquist along with the singers and dancers. We will decide whether or not to attend when the time arrives. Ventriloquism is not our forte. If you're following our trivia travails, no good news forthcoming. We lost both times yesterday. Boo hoo..........missed out on a deck of cards and another medal. I do hope the prizes get a little better for the next 30 days. Also, for those who are interested; 5 formal nights this cruise. We might make 2; maybe even three. We'll see. Caryn: We played trivia yesterday AM with Irene from Anchorage Janet: No; wasn't me.
