cruzadict Posted September 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2010 After much soul searching and reading all the reviews on CC I have just booked for the Sojourn from Southampton next April. This will be our first SB cruise. The only V2 suite which was available was 533 so I have taken this as wanted to be midship and the V2 suites were considerably cheaper than the mid ship on deck 6. Has anyone any experience or thoughts on 533. It is the first of the row of suites on that deck, what is the other side of it? Even though it is 7 months away I am already getting excited. DCinNJ Posted September 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2010 Congratulations! You will love it. We just got back from our first Seabourn curise on the Odessey (identical to Soujourn). We stayed in suite 534 right across from where you'll be. We loved staying on deck 5 - mid ship; mid deck; close to everything. Self-serve laundrettes where right around the corner (wish I had known about them, would have cut back on the amount of clothes we broughts!) Quick walk to "The Club" for a drink; One deck down for the Restaurant. access to the main stairwell. The suite was very roomy. Great 2-sink bathroom, plenty of closet space, large bed; sofa, a table and 2 chairs in a separate area of the cabin; and that balcony!! Enjoy. cruzadict Posted September 23, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted September 23, 2010 DCinNJ - Thanks for the prompt reply. Was there much noise from the launderette. I can't see this marked on the deck plan. What I did notice was that 536 and 533 have a black triangle showing on the plan - do you know what this denotes. cruzadict Posted October 6, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted October 6, 2010 I have just read on another thread that the balconies on deck 5 are railings and not glass and the view is slightly obstructed. Has anyone had any problems with these balconies as I am wondering whether it would be better to pay the extra for deck 6. This is our first time on SB and want to "get it right". lord of the seas Posted October 6, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2010 Deck six for me is the best deck.
wripro Posted October 6, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 6, 2010 They are part steel, part glass. The view will be slightly obstructed from inside the cabin. You don't need togo to V6. You can go to V3 or V5 on Deck 6 for all glass balconies.
wripro Posted October 6, 2010 #8 Share Posted October 6, 2010 The balconies on Deck five are part steel, part glass. The view will be partially obstructed from inside the suite. You don't have to go to V6 for all glass balconies, just V3 or V5 on Deck six.
