How far is Hyatt Place South to Oakwood Plaza?

Can we walk? Streets OK or highway? I mapquested it and it said 0.9 miles so that is doable but can't tell if it is on regular roads. We'll have strollers and 4 little kids with us. How long is the walk?

How is Hollywood Ale House? Anything good to eat there?

Is BJ's Wholesale Club like Sam's Club? Can you use your Sam's Club card to get in? If we can get in, can we buy wine there? We just need a place to buy 3 bottles of wine. Other than BJ if we can't get in, can we get decent wine at Big K-Mart? Never been to one before.

Thanks.

That distance would almost have to be to the center of the mall. The HP South is located in a cul-de-sac about 200 yards from Stirling Road. Cross Stirling Road and you are at the north part of the mall.

You can go to Miller's Ale House web site and look at the menu. It's a sports bar/restaurant. There's also Sweet Tomatoes, TGI Fridays, Sal's Italian Restorante, Red Lobster, Moonlite Diner and Wendy's close to the Ale House. Dave and Buster's is in there somewhere as well and Taco Bell, Mickey D's and Chipotle are on Stirling Road.

K-Mart has a decent selection of popular wines.

As you cross Stirling, that area is mostly shopping (Kmart is on the right, Marshall's Ross's, Avenue, other shopping on the left). As you continue to walk south, that is where most of the restaurants are. There is at least one section of that walk that would be on a street (no parking lot or sidewalks along there).

That walk would be fine in daylight, but I would be nervous after dark due to the traffic along that street.

You are better off taking the family to Dave & Busters in the Oakwood Plaza area, rather than the Ale House. If you're not familiar with the concept, it is a restaurant and large gameroom, with fun and games for the whole family (and a bar for adult beverages too!). The food there is pretty good, actually better than the Ale House. I think there is a dine and game package, so google it and check it out.
