dotsofunn Posted September 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2010 We will be docked in Hamilton for a few days and wanted to know how to get to the Railway Trail from the Port in Hamilton....or if you could suggest some safe places to get in a good run! Thanks!
32N64W Posted September 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2010 Hi Again Dotsofunn, Looks like you got me as your own private consultant! The Railway Trail is a great run, but it also quite a way out of Hamilton. Our roads, for the most part, do not have sidewalks and can be pretty scary for runners or walkers with the traffic zipping past inches from your elbow. Locals do it, but they have no fear (it's the rum that rots the brain). I suggest you go from the dock on Front Street, all the way East to the roundabout, back West as far as the Hamilton Princess and back. That's just about two miles. You can also run around the city, anywhere in the South side of Hamilton. Sidewalks all the way. If you really want a burn, do the trails behind the South Shore beaches - you can get there and back on the bus. That's a good workout and really nice views, too. Have Fun!
