SSGMike,

Thank you for the review. Did you see any foliage? If so, how much? Can those of us leaving on 10/16 hope to see any? Or do you think it will be gone by?

What sort of entertainment did they have each evening?

What time did you embark in NY? Was it organized? Was there a schedule of events waiting in your room? What time was the safety drill? Was there any kind of "sail away" party?

Those of us sailing in the next few weeks are looking forward to the trip. Your review is very helpful. It's always good knowing what to expect.

well since we cruised early [ Sept 22nd ] fall folage was limited but we did see a couple trees turn red and orange. Surely you will see a lot more.

Entertainment was a full show day 2 I guess it was. A couple nights of Opera if your in to that, though the tenor was excellent. Each bar had it own entertainment daily, Shows were good but short.

One thing keep in mind announcements may drive you nuts since they go from English, to Italian, to French to Spanish and German during shows and over head announcements.

We left New York at 6 PM and it was very smooth thou there was a delay initially getting on to the ship, nothing to do with the ship or anything, but the delay was very organized to make sure your entry onto the ship went smooth which it did.

Formal nights 2 of them were not made a big deal about, called Gala nights. picture taking was not all over you if you know what I mean, which we liked. Hate when they constantly are taking your picture. The ones they take are pricey.

On board shops being a guy were boring as far as I am concerned. Casino was alright thou my wife did hit a jack pot of $850.00 on quarters. In the beginning no one was winning.

The safety drill was somewhat after we were all on board.

Once on board you set up your credit card, be advised that they automatically make 2 charges on your credit card of $1.50 twice for a donation to UNICEF. When I got my bill I found this out and did not like that nothing was said prior about this. Nothing against UNICEF [ I do my own donations ] seems MSC is tied in with UNICEF, which is a very good organization.

Anything else let me know. Enjoy your tip.
