phettinger Posted February 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2005 Hi All, I have a question regarding upgrades. We are are embarking on a Cruise in March on the Valor. We booked a guarantee OV room. This is the first time we have ever done this. We have rec'd our docs and on the Sail and Sign page it gives us a cabin #. So we assumed this would be our assigned cabin. My DH spoke to our TA yesterday regarding price drops. The TA said that when she spoke with Carnival they indicated we were guaranteed an upgrade Is it possible to receive an upgrade after the doc's have been issued? :)
critterchick Posted February 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2005 Yes, it is. We had some friends who booked a cruise with us on Royal Caribbean a couple of years ago, and they found out about their upgrade at checkin. It took awhile for their luggage to catch up with them, but it got there before dinner (late seating). Good luck!
Trevoli Posted February 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2005 It's absolutely possible. As another poster said, it can take some time for your bags to catch up with you, because your old cabin # will be on the tag. If it takes an unreasonably long time to appear, though, inquire at the purser's desk, or ask your cabin steward if s/he knows anything about it. We were upgraded a few years ago at check-in, and didn't get our luggage until after we sailed. We started to panic a little, so went to the purser's desk, and there was a whole bunch of bags there with no cruiseline-issued tags on them (so much for tipping the luggage handlers, 3 out of 3 luggage tags were missing). Happily, our bags were among them. T
