Mamacane71 Posted June 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Hello. We will be traveling down to Miami the day before the cruise. We are staying close to the port at the Holiday Inn. My daughter wants some Cuban Food. Any suggestions? Will be there on the 26th. Thanks for all your input. PhoenixCruiser Posted June 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Barbara, you might find a restaurant at the Bayside Marketplace. Here's their Web site. ### Navigator of the Seas 6/26/04

coysdad Posted June 15, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Barbara, We stayed at the same hotel across from Bayside when we were there. One of the locals suggested a small Cuban cafe on the water at Bayside and it was wonderful. The food was great and the prices were a real surprise (very low, less than $20 for two people incl drinks). Most of the seating is outside overlooking the bay and it's real close to where the excursion boats are docked so finding it shouldn't be a problem. Host Karen Posted June 15, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Bongo's Cafe at the AA Arena. Cross at the intersection north of Bayside Marketplace on the same side of the street and walk past the arena toward the water (look for the concrete pineapple). Delicious!! allamricn Posted June 16, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 16, 2004 If you truly want authentic and wonderful Cuban food, then you should try a restaurant on Calle Ocho. Its the Cuban section of Miami, known for wonderful Cubano cuisine...

jo1168 Posted June 16, 2004 #15 Share Posted June 16, 2004 I would try Versailles. Very authentic, great food! We ate there a few years ago and when we got back to Chicago, this restaurant was written up in one of the travel magazines. It tru;ly is a Cuban dining experience.
