Segway anyone?

Has anyone done the Segway excursion off the ship or on their own. Looks like fun...

Well I just found out a friend of mine took the Segway excursion on Barbados and had a blast. Then someone told me on Tripadvisor they did it a few months ago and loved it. So we are booked on this excursion. Can't wait...

We did it in Hawaii in 2007 having previously done a taster session at Epcot (Disneyworld) in 2006.

 

All was well until I went slightly faster than I was comfortable with (so I didn't get left behind) - I hit a stone wall, came off and hurt my back. I couldn't walk properly for 3 weeks and it spoiled the rest of the cruise.

 

So - enjoy it but stick within your own comfort levels and don't let anyone make you go faster than you want.

 

PS - I ride a 600cc sports motorbike so I am used to speed, used to leaning over round corners and used to a twist grip throttle. None of that helped when I was lying on the ground cut and bruised!
