Rare Azulann Posted September 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2010 I just booked my second cruise.:D It is to Eastern Med. in Sept 2011. I learned from this forum to seach the online travel sites. One was having a sale this week. Got a price only 200.00 more than my first cruise in 2008 in Western Med. Same cabin catergory. Got OBC and prepaid gratuities this time around. Thanks everyone for your posts on this subject. I am not going to check for any price drops between now and June. I am a happy camper:). Instead I will turn to reseaching all the wonderful countries I will visit. Maybe when I book my third cruise I will have enough energy to do the "weekly price drop thing" and understand the intricate rules that govern this sport.
cruiserfromohio Posted September 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2010 I'd suggest that you check for price drops, and/or the "meet on board" board on this site semi frequently, as the cabins are priced and sold based on a airline-like pricing model. If for some reason the cabins are selling slowly, the price will be reduced maybe only for a short time until sales match the curve in the model. Every time the price is reduced prior to final payment, you can get your price reduced, or you'll get an OBC equal to the price reduction. If you don't want to take the time, your fellow passengers will and post it on the board. Last year I caught three price reduction on an Equinox cruise that way. Rare Azulann Posted October 1, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks for the heads up. OBC is always nice. I will have my travel companion be in charge of this. I will be doing research about what to see and do at each port of call. I am very excited about being on this new ship. Lot more options for dining and really want to see the glass blowing event.
