Help with stateroom choice

I am trying to figure out my best options. We will be traveling with a total of 6. Myself and DW plus 4 kids. Now I know I can look at two rooms etc. but just wondered if anyone has any experience with a type of room that would fit us all without having to take out another mortgage;)? I should mention the kids will range from 13-18. Have not decided on a particular voyage as of yet but somewhere in the Caribbean so we are open to different ships etc.

There are no rooms with Carnival that sleep 6. The Dream class have 5-person rooms, and older ships can put 5 into some rooms, utlizing a roll-away.

So, you'd have to go with 2 rooms. Try to get connecting rooms. If you go with balconies next door to each other, you can have them open up the dividers of the balcony, as long as that one could be opened. Once you get on board, you can go to the pursers desk and get more rooms keys, so you can access both rooms. Look for a room that can sleep 4 (for the kids) next door to a room for 2.
