Glory 09 11 2010pixel.gifBordering from pier 90 couldn’t have been easier, even though our NYC cab missed the turn and we had to double back to the pier. He did turn off the meter. So kudos to him! Got to the pier at 11 and we were on board by 12. Meet up with friends (members of our roll call) that we had met earlier in the week (that were in NYC early to explore as were. After ordering our first drink of the day, we made a beeline to the Fish and chips stand (so GOOD). Then it was the muster drill (without life jackets)

For sail away we climbed the stairs to the top deck for our meet and greet with the roll call! So amazing that so many people showed up after getting to know each other over months on CC. (for those that haven’t joined your roll calls i can’t suggest more strongly that you do!)

After roll call many went to dinner as they had early seating while ours was late. So after showering and changing (our baggage arrived without any issues) we went to tour the shops and the casino (won $20 and lost it... but as my initial investment was only $5 ... it was entertainment.) Then we headed to our table. It turned out that they needed the larger table for a group that went from 6 people to 10. The MD was very apologetic and asked if we minded being moved to a “nice” table. It was then that i suggested by the window? Our seat was one away from the window. Considering that it was dark outside it didn’t matter but it was nice to see even the night.

After dinner we went wondering into the karaoke lounge... and left quickly! We ended in the piano bar. The songs were a little sad at first and Morse. We asked for some up beat tunes (and tipped well) and songs became a bit happier and the place started to fill up. We both sang along. When it came to New York, New York i belted it. I guess i was okay. (But do wonder if im up for repeat performance. At about 12 we hit the hay. It had been a long day!

We had a 4J cabin; it’s the very front of the ship. It’s an inside with the obstructed view. (If im sitting on the bed all i can see is the sky, though standing i have no trouble seeing The ship moves a bit at the front but neither BFF have experienced any issues with the movement. And loved being rocked to sleep! This is true until the sea day as then the boat was rocking as we caught the tail end of the tornado that hit NYC. Many people were ill this day!!!

1st sea day. After breakfast in the main dining room i went and found a calm shell in the Serenity area and watched the world go by, while BFF went to the gym. Had lunch in the main dining room. Great lunch as we meet a new group of people who like us are Carnival cheer leaders. After lunch we went to the Art auction. As my walls are running out of space and my shopping budget had been spent in NYC at Macy’s... i showed restraint... Okay BFF also was the voice of reason. That night at dinner was the first formal night... YUM lobster. Went we got the main dinning room we found that our table had again been changed... we were right beside the window... Karma is wonderful thing! After dinner we saw two comedy acts... both adult and enjoyed both. After those it was back to the piano bar. Just after midnight we left as we had an early morning as we had booked a trip on a Tall Ship in Halifax.

Halifax. We had booked an excursion through the ship to sail on The Tall Ship Silva. It was great and we were able to learn a great deal of history about the city. After the sail we walked around Halifax then came back to the boat for a late lunch.

Saint John Love this town!!!! Here we did the Hop on and Hop off pink bus and learnt a great deal about the city. We toured both the city and took the Pink Bus to the reversing falls (though really they look more like rapids than falls) After the bus I spent sometime in the market beside the ship and found the people to be amongst the friendliest that we had meet on the trip!

Portland MA For this port we booked the Land and Sea tour from the ship. The land portion took us through town and then to see the Oldest Commissioned Light House in USA. The light house was amazing. After the land tour we boarded the Windjammer to sail in the port. We loved this sailing much more than the one in Halifax as they actually used the sails not just for show as they had been in Halifax. After the sail we walked around town a bit and had a lobster roll (our first time) Very pretty port!

Boston For this port we did the Hop on Hop off tour at the end of the pier as the ones offered by the ship did not offer the hop on hop off option. In the City we stopped to do some shopping and then had lunch at “Cheers” we both had Boston Clam Chowder ? Yum!!!! It’s a very nice city and has a beautiful harbor! Would defiantly recommend doing the Hop on Hop off as you learn a great deal about the city! And seeing Fenway park was amazing!!!!

Last sea day As mentioned prior it was a rough day at the sea and the swells were huge. The ship almost felt like a ghost town. The Roll Call got together for one final time to take pictures, though not everyone came (due to the rough sea many were not feeling up to it)

Debarkation Easy! No issues ?

Cabin Steward Left great towel animals every day… but could have also focused more on the cleanliness of the cabin. We had issues with the sink not being properly cleaned and also with the mirror having to be mentioned to have cleaned two times before it was done. Friendly for sure, just not focused.

Steak House Kudo’s to Debbie as she made the experience enjoyable as both my BFF and I thought that the other staff were cold and the food in the MDR was at par.

MDR Loved Hussain the MD and Carlos and his team! The service that they provided was incredible! From the first night to the final night consistently amazing!!! Also the food was fabulous.. No complaints!!!

Guest Services With all my encounters with Guest Services they were at all times professional and extremely accommodating! I even requested a room for our Roll Call and they not only provided one but also published it the “Fun Times” so that those that couldn’t make the first one were able to make this one! Great service!

They were all good.

I still have to sort and post more photos.

The review was good too. if I find some time I'll post one of my own. I did say a few things on the Carnival survey but haven’t heard anything back.
