I was on the Concordia last week. You will not be the only English speakers on board, however there will not be many.

BTW the Concordia is going in for an 18 day refurbishment before your cruise so it should be nice and new looking. New carpets, hopefully new TVs and hopefully better A/C.

Thank you for replying to my post. It's good to hear from someone whose been on this ship. I'm excited to hear it's going in for refurbishment since it's been a while!

Where did you cruise from and to?

Was there a lot of smoking?

Also, how was the food? I've heard bad reviews about that too.

We did a 7 night cruise starting and ending in Barcelona stopping in Marseilles, Savona, Naples, Palermo, Tunis and Palma.

In places there was a lot of smoke but the Berlino Grand Bar on deck 5 was mostly smoke free. I just expect a lot of smoke with so many Italians on board (along with their bizarre way of stopping in the most inconvenient place possible while walking).:)

I loved the food for the most part. We ate in the main dinning room each night (late seating) and I was only disappointed with 1 or 2 dishes.

Our waiter explained that North Americans tend to not like a lot of the dinner choices as there are not a lot of steaks and no lobster.

The buffet food was OK, typical buffet quality, nothing special but good for a morning feed before leaving the ship.

Thank you so much for responding to me. Someone told me the ship was going in for an 18 day refurbishment before we cruise in December and I'm happy about that.

What you said about the smoking was about what I expected. Oh well....

I'm glad you said the food was good.

How were the shows? Do they do them in different languages?

Thanks.

We did not see the shows.

With such a port intensive cruise and having the late seating we just did not bother.

The smoking was bad in places but others were not too bad, certainly worse in the casino but there are places like the Berlino bar that are almost smoke free.
