Tender location in Fakarava

I need to know where we will tender in Fakarava to plan our day. Is there anything to do at the port or should we book an excursion? We are big snorkelling and beach fans. Anyone know where the pink sand beaches are located and how to get there? Any advice on recommendations for the day would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe kick the snorkeling up a notch, and go scuba diving? The diving in some parts of FP can be about as good as it gets.

 

Fakarava is a fairly small place, or at least it was in 2003, and so I'd use the term "port" somewhat loosely.
