Hi everyone

well we have done 20 cruises ( counting this november).

Half have been with princess & rest have been with rccl !!!

We have definately heard a lot about celebrity cruises, and

were wanting to know how this line compares with princess

and rccl.

Would appreciate hearing from those who have done the

latter and stuck with celebrity and their reasons why....****

have toyed with trying this line for the past couple of years

and wonder............."is it worth the change" !!!!!

Thanks so much for any info you might have...

( almost 20 cruises )

1. No announcements!! no constant announcements about bingo, art auctions, activities.

2. We found the food on Celebrity to be a bit more upscale when compared to Princess or RCCL

3. Better Loyalty program than RCCL

5.Solstice class ships are beautiful (different from RCCL which also has beautiful ships)

4. Men's a capella quartet singing in various venues around the ship

5. Refreshing change of menus from the ones on RCCL. After 20 cruises you should have the old menus about memorized.

6. You do not have to check out pool towels,

7. Cold towels when returning to the ship from a hot day in port

8. Generally, fewer children and those that are onboard are well behaved

Service, service, service...I was totally blown away by the service on our Eclipse cruise this summer.

I also loved that the ship never felt crowded. We sailed full and I never experienced lines anywhere. Disembarkation was a breeze. The Solstice class ships are to die for.

Don't get me wrong, I'd do a Princess or RCCL cruise in a heartbeat if the price and itinerary were right. I still think Princess has the most beautiful ships and RCCL offers a great package but Celebrity had that extra special something you will notice right away.

Take the plunge, you will not regret it! :)

I think if you have really liked Princess and RCCL you will love Celebrity. We just sailed on the Connie in Sept and she has been redone and is beautiful. All of our cruises have also been on Princess and RCCL, and I have been looking at Celebrity as of late. We have Elite status and at this point I still look at itineraries first, then the line and ships. We usually end up at Celebrity. We might have to go back to Princess, as Celebrity really does not do the British Isles. I really think Princess has the BEST itineraries, but I LOVE everything about Celebrity. ENJOY!!!:):)

We like RCI and Celebrity and each has their pros and cons. The service, as mentioned, is really the number one advantage although we have had good service on RCI for the most part. The food is definitely better in the MDR than RCI. I do think RCI wins in the buffet. I think the S-class bathrooms are bigger and more spacious. It depends, really, on what you are looking for. We loved the Independence of the Seas and there were more activities and things to do than on our Eclipse cruise. RCI is more family oriented, I'd say. The biggest thing for us is the no smoking policy. So pleasant not to have to deal with it. You can't go wrong on either line, but Celebrity is just a notch above.

Although we have not officially cruised on Celebrity (198 days!!), what drew us to the line was the following:

1. NO smoking on balconies or in cabins.

2. Fewer children, families, and more "adult" focus of ship.

3. Claims of better food and service.

4. Being able to bring 2 bottles of wine on board.
