casino charges

I've tried going to other posts about this but still not sure of the answer.

We will be sailing on the Ruby Princess in April. Our Daughter & Son would like to send my Wife gift certificates to be used onboard (mainly in the casino slots) as a Birthday gift. I may even purchase gift certificates too for gambling. By having this credit does that mean we can use it directly from the slot machines using our sea pass (room card) after setting up a account at the slots and not at the cage. At the end of the cruise we would simply apply any credit (not likely) back to our onboard account. I'd rather not carry a lot of cash or have to deal with travelers checks(except what I take for emergency cash). I also do not wish to buy separate certificates (casino and other onboard) in case she decides to buy something expensive in one of the shops onboard.

Thanks,
