SakeDad Posted October 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2010 I did a search but didn't find anything. Does anyone have some good pictures from one of the backstage tours of the showrooms? Things like props, storage, etc...? Thanks in advance!:D
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted October 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2010 They didnt allow us to take photos of the back areas. When we got to try on costumes while on stage we could take photos but we had to face towards the audience so all we got was the seats and the person in the photo. SakeDad Posted October 8, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted October 8, 2010 Thanks Kathy! Guess that is the way they keep the "magic"!;)
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted October 8, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2010 Just in case you are thinking about that tour, remember there are 2 different tours. Both are good. One anybody can sign up for and you do get up and stage and learn a lot. The 2nd is offered to Platinum level (repeat guests) and it is much more in depth and you go down one of the lifts and get to see all the props down stairs and learn how it all works, as well as the stage level that the other tour gets to see too. I have done both. Kathy
BoardwalkBabe Posted October 9, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2010 When I did the backstage theater tour a few years ago, we were allowed to take photos and I took a lot of them. It sounds like that option may have changed.

BoardwalkBabe Posted October 10, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2010 These are from December 2007 on the Magic. It was dark onstage and they didn't exactly crank the lights up. ;)

BoardwalkBabe Posted October 10, 2010 #10 Share Posted October 10, 2010 We also saw how the lift underneath the stage works but I don't have any photos of that - too dark to see anything anyway - and the space where all the props are is very tight. Not a lot of room in the back of the stage at all so it's amazing how they make such great use of the space that they do have. It was a fun session! mom x4,grandma x4 Posted October 10, 2010 #11 Share Posted October 10, 2010 Those are great photos.:D in 2009 they wouldnt let us take any photos of that stuff, we had to face out to the seats for photos of each other. Didnt seem like it should matter since we were allowed to see it all, so why not get to take photos?? But they said NO photos! Glad to see you got some. BoardwalkBabe Posted October 10, 2010 #12 Share Posted October 10, 2010 Ah but we weren't allowed to try on the dresses when I went so you were able to do something different. :D
SakeDad Posted October 12, 2010 Author #13 Share Posted October 12, 2010 THANKS!!!! I've been talking to them about being a Stage Manager so these are very fun for me to see.
