firebrat25 Posted October 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2010 My family and I will be cruising on Freedom from FLL on Dec 5th. Our kids are 4 and 2.5 and we tend to eat at the buffet a few of the nights. Does anyone know what the food is like on the buffet at night? Do the selection change every evening? We sailed on LOS a while back and recall that lunch and breakfast selections were pretty much the same everyday. We did not partake in the buffet for dinner while on LOS. Any info that can be provided will be appreciated, thanks
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted October 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2010 Whilst there are items that are consistent, some of the menu options from the MDR will also be available in the buffet each evening.
suezyq50 Posted October 11, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2010 We saw a nicer selection. A "cook to order stir fry", sushi, and ice cream available in the evening are the ones that stick out in my mind.
Rare BillOh Posted October 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2010 I will add that the atmosphere is a little more relaxed in the Winjammer at night with staff that are a little more attentive and plenty of table space. A good choice with small kids.
uksimonusa Posted October 11, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2010 Just to make sure you can actually enjoy the dinner buffet in the Windjammer, Freedom sails from Port Canaveral NOT Fort Lauderdale
firebrat25 Posted October 11, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted October 11, 2010 I am so used to sailing from FLL or Miami, this will be our first trip from Port Canaveral. I keep forgetting that, though I did not forget when we book airfare.
algorithmannie Posted October 11, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 11, 2010 The dinner buffet is quite nice and we enjoyed it as an alternative to the MDR. The food is similar each night, but they usually have some of the MDR food available. For example, the soups from the MDR are always available in the buffet. They do not have lobster in the buffet on the nights when lobster is offered in the MDR :( There is usually a carving station, a made-to-order pasta or stir-fry station, sandwiches, salad, sushi, burgers etc. One night they had a crepe station in the buffet! Yum! They made the crepes to order and added any fillings that you request.
