Delta Queen Posted October 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2010 Hi: My husband needs to bring his CPAP machine with him on this cruise. Are there any 110 outlets near the bed or do we bring a long extension cord on which I will invariably trip on my nightly trip to the bathroom ;) Do we need to inform Windstar/Windsurf that we are bringing a CPAP machine? Thanks DQ
skurvish Posted October 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2010 Hi DQ. I was on Windsurf in september. I too use a CPAP. There are no plugs near the bed so you will need a long extension cord to get to the plugs under the desk. Also, the 110V plug in our room was 2-prong, no ground. I found using the 110V to 220V adapters the best solution as the 220V sides are always 2 prong. Just make sure you get a good quality one as the sockets themselves are a little sloppy and I had difficulty getting a solid connection without arcing. I did not need to notify WS that I was using a CPAP and nothing was ever said to me. May your husband sleep well and neither of you trip over the extension cord. :)
Delta Queen Posted October 14, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted October 14, 2010 Thanks skurvish - 2 prong not a problem - long extension cord not a problem either. Is there a 220V plug near the bed - we could always purchase an adapter. DQ
skurvish Posted October 14, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2010 No. We were told this was for safety reasons. The refrigerator and DVD player are right beside the bed (at least in our stateroom) but there is no access to get behind to the power.
dbr1990 Posted October 18, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2010 All of the outlets are across from the bed and under the desk. There are 2. A 110v, and a 220 2 prong outlet. An extension cord will be needed. I wouldn't think you would need to notify WS. We just sailed the Med on Wind Surf, and it was wonderful... You will love it
