I loved Costa Maya......but we haven't been back there since it was destroyed by the hurricane.

 

....but we haven't been to Nassau in a while either..........:D

We went back to Costa Maya last cruise, last Feb, it's back to normal or better. We were actually on the Regal Empress who did the very first cruise to Costa Maya. Was such a small fishing port and the locals were very proud of their brand new Cruise port. Schools were closed, news media was there as well as the locals to Welcome their first Cruise visitors. It was sweet. Sad to see the small bar on the beach was destroyed. :( I have some where a pic of the huge beer bottle they had there.

To the OP,

 

All I can say is...I wonder what I would do if I refused to leave my state to go on a cruise...

 

A lot of us have to travel to catch a port. That's how you see the 'new stuff' you are looking to see.

 

Nuff said. I have no sympathy in landlocked KY.
