Miami logistic for return day

Hi,

I'm new to this, and have few questions about what do do on the

last day of our cruise.

 

We have a good part of the day between when our cruise arrives

in Miami and our flight out of Ft Lauderdale at 8:30PM.

 

Is there a convenient place to drop off the luggage for the day?

 

Any special recommendations on what to do/see/where to eat for a few hours

in Miami?

 

How long does it take to get from Miami to Ft Lauderdale airport?

There isn't a place to put your luggage while you go around and tour the city. The airports have gotten rid of their storage lockers and there's no place at the dock. You can only check your bags at the airport no more than 2 hours before the flight. The best thing to do is to rent a car and keep your luggage in the trunk.

Some cruise lines offer day excursions of Miami and/or Lauderdale on arrival day that terminate at FLL airport. If yours does, you can book an excursion and your luggage will be transported underneath the bus in a locked compartment.

I also have a late flight out of Ft. Lauderdale, and am planning on booking an excursion through my ship(carnival). It is called the art deco tour w/FLL airport transfer. It says it is 3 hrs long and is good for people with flights after 4:00 p.m. from Ft. Lauderdale. So you might want to check your ships website to see if they offer excursions in Miami with airport transfers. I know a lot of ships offer an Everglades tour as well.
