singinglizzie Posted October 17, 2010 Author #27 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Did anyone mention the cleanliness? I read that almost all the NCL ships scored at least 98/100 on recent inspections with most of the ships scoring 99 or 100!
DMH15 Posted October 17, 2010 #28 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Here's a new one for ya: trivia games! Love the NCL suite life and others have stated why here quite eloquently. NCL has the worst bingo.
DMH15 Posted October 17, 2010 #29 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Chilled fruit soups Nobody does them better !!! Oh, you are so right!!! Love them too!
cruis247g Posted October 17, 2010 #30 Share Posted October 17, 2010 -Suites! NCL suites are gorgeous and the service (butler and concierge) is outstanding. Although suites are more expensive than other cabins, IMHO NCL suites are less expensive than anything close to comparable on other cruise lines. -Fruit soups. -Casual dining. After a day in port, it's very nice to be able to have a nice dinner without dressing up...unless you choose to do so:D.
TheYearofMe Posted October 17, 2010 #31 Share Posted October 17, 2010 The great rates I get through CAS. The friendly staff. Freestyle is the BEST! Soon to experience my first suite and I can't wait!!
singinglizzie Posted October 17, 2010 Author #32 Share Posted October 17, 2010 i just thought of another great thing that NCL does - it offers those $250 deposit certificates for the next cruise but you get a $100 on board credit for the cruise you are on. I don't think any other line does that!
KaththeTaff Posted October 17, 2010 #33 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Freestyle, freestyle and freestyle! Disembarkation was simple, embarkation was quick and easy, and we really enjoyed the breakfasts! In the evening there was a great range of entertainment too! And did I mention freestyle? hawaiilvr Posted October 17, 2010 #34 Share Posted October 17, 2010 ...the best Hawaiian itinerary. Honolulu to three other islands in seven days means more time on the beautiful islands.
alwalaska Posted October 17, 2010 #35 Share Posted October 17, 2010 I really like the next cruise program better than any of the others I have seen.
mamasue Posted October 17, 2010 #36 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Chilled fruit soups Nobody does them better !!! Carnival does!!!! I think Carnival's fruit soups are much nicer than NCL's.... but food is subjective anyway!! I like NCL because of... 1...Prices 2...Decor 3... Great shows. 4... Th3e fact that I can get great fish and chips at the Blue Lagoon at 3am if I get the urge!!
Buford T Justiice Posted October 18, 2010 #37 Share Posted October 18, 2010 NCL is really great with Children. On our two most recent cruises, there is nothing like having your child light up while being greeted by crew members (on their very limited time off) in port. Very nice. Barb Nahoumi Posted October 18, 2010 #38 Share Posted October 18, 2010 Freestyle disembarkation is wonderful. You do not need to gather in a public room with all of your carry-ons to await your turn. You can enjoy a leisurly breakfast, workout in the gym, or watch tv in your cabin until your luggage color tag is called. If you are in a great hurry, you can do self disembarkation. Carry off all of your luggage by yourself, before the major disembarkation begins.

Silvermist Posted October 18, 2010 #40 Share Posted October 18, 2010 I haven't sailed yet, but I'm really happy with NCL/Tropicana's partnership - I got the $100 OBC for buying $5 worth of orange juice!
flyawayca Posted October 18, 2010 #41 Share Posted October 18, 2010 If I had to pick one thing I would say they have the best 24 hour food selection at sea. Oh, so good!
Dajbman22 Posted October 18, 2010 #42 Share Posted October 18, 2010 I only have RCCL to directly compare NCL with, but my parents/brother have also told me lots about Princess, Celebrity, and Cunard (as I try to convince them to give NCL's Suite experience a shot). Based on this my list is: 1) Pretzel Rolls 2) CD - Paul Scally (although I think he is off-contract touring in the UK for a bit right now) 3) Value for the money 4) Boston departures 5) Comedy 6) Late night/24hr dining 7) Stateroom bathrooms (love the sliding doors, don't know how I feel about Epic, but won't knock it till I try it) 8) Freestyle Dining execution

Micchi Posted October 18, 2010 #46 Share Posted October 18, 2010 Love the dining concept (we like to eat when we like to eat, with whomever we'd like to eat with, including just ourselves) and the 24 hour room service/comfort food restaurants. Had to pay $5 pp at Johnny Rockets on RCCL to satisfy an evening grease craving, but on NCL it's always free... :D

Bushy H. Posted October 28, 2010 #49 Share Posted October 28, 2010 Can anyone tell me what is included in the Courtyard villas? We are on the Dec 24-2 Jan cruise on the Jade and not sure what we will be receiving. We have been Holland America cruisers but they are slowly losing their shine especially the smaller ships. We are cancelling a cruise on the Ryndam from the horrid reviews on CC just like the ones we read for the Prinsendam another small ship but we went anyway and it cost double what they normally charge for a horrible fourteen days. Can't wait to see how NCL will be!!
