Ft. Lauderdale Hotel pre-cruise

Going January 2011. On last cruise leaving Port Everglades we stayed at the Embassy Suites pre-cruise. It was ok but would like to try someplace else. We did like the location as it was close to the pier and we could see out ship out our window. How is the Renaissance Mariott? I think that is nearby where the Embassy is.

Do you have to see the ships? YOu might want to look at the Riverside which is on Las Olas Blvd.

We stay wherever we can get a great deal at a 4 or 5* hotel using hotwire, priceline or lastminutetravel. Renaissance has been known to show up at those sites. Tripadvisor is a great site for reviews and pictures of various hotels. Would you consider staying by the beach?

Sure, not opposed to staying by beach. Which beach hotels do you recommend?

I too recommend the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas. Las Olas is such a lovely area, with lots to see and do right at your doorstep.
