Rare mawvkysc Posted October 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2010 When going on the stingray/snorkel tours what do you do with you wallet? Are there ways to secure them? Has anyone had a problem with theft on one of these tours? We are thinking of going with Captain Marvins tour.
beannie Posted October 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2010 We always leave our "stuff" on the boat (not the ship) and have never had a problem. A backpack or a large tote bag for us has been sufficient.
caribsun Posted October 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2010 I place cash and Sail and Sign card in a water proof case. http://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Container-Airtight-Money-Beach/dp/B002EDCS06
jaga04 Posted October 16, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2010 We've been on numerous snorkeling boats, including Captain Marvin's, and left our wallets on board in our packs with no problem.

Your S&S card, a credit card, ID, some small cash in a water proof "wallet". An Aloksak or equivalent will do. http://www.loksak.com/purchase?product_type=
Lsimon Posted October 24, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 24, 2010 I've tried several brands of waterproof wallets - the best and most leak proof one I've had is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Kwik-Tek-Dry-Alligator-Wallet/dp/B000BJ7WHE/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1287960481&sr=1-1 I can dive down 15 or 20 feet while snorkeling and it still does not leak. Denise&Paul STL Posted October 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 24, 2010 We use a waterproof case like the first one on Amazon, but you can get it at your local dive shop or I've even seen them at Wal-mart - just make sure the o-rings are good and solid. While you are at it, pick up a cheapie water-proof camera for snorkeling.

SheSailsFL Posted November 12, 2010 #9 Share Posted November 12, 2010 A never-fail option I use...a zip lock bag! Put only your S&S card, small amount of cash, and your credit or debit card in it...zip it and if you feel uneasy leaving it on the beach or snorkel boat, stick it inside your swimsuit! I use another bag on the beach for keeping my Kindle and other stuff dry and sand-free... I never leave home without a bunch of them!
