april_4_us Posted October 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2010 looking to rent a car from fll and drop of near the port. I know there are teo specifically hertz and thrifty but why cant I name my own price at different drop off locations?? So then would it be worth the discount to priceline then take the car back to fll and cab drive to the port??? what does everyone think?? I personally am thinking I can get a better discount that way and then get a cab to a close hotel that will shuttle us to the airport the next day?? Captain Canuck Posted October 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2010 has a shuttle from the airport to the cruise ships for most of the rental car companies..so you drop your car at the airport and take the shuttle...large buses as there are LOTS of people who do this

For me, the major advantage to renting a car in Ft. Lauderdale is the ability to stay anywhere, thus not paying the price premium charged by hotels near the port / with shuttles to the port. If you can specify a rental with a shuttle to the port on Priceline, then go that route, but otherwise I would just rent directly from a company and gain my savings on the lower hotel costs.
