hopefully this works....if at first I do not succeed, I promise I will try, try again!

Sorry they are thumbnails and very small when clicked on. I am not sure how to post them in the actaul thread. I tried to use google Picasa and it wouldn't work, or I should say I couldn't figure it out. So if you know how, feel free to let me know and I can try to repost. The first picture is of the marina behind the hotel, the grainy photo is of Miami Beach from the balcony, the last is the view of the hotel from the ship (the building to the left is the Venetia, where Mike's is located.)

can someone explain detailed steps on how to bid for this hotelandget it for sure?

I took advice of another poster. Bid $90 and 3 1/2 stars min. and they returned and said if we added $20 they would accept but did not know hotel until we returned that bid. Seems $100 area and 3 + stars gives you a chance at it BUT I have only played this one time. Good luck.

If they ask you to add $20, try adding $10 and you should still get it. That's what I was reccommended to do by someone on the boards (go 50% of what they ask) and it worked. PL wanted me to go +$15 and I wernt +8 and won the bid.

Good luck.

Just want to add to this thread that we stayed at this Marriott precruise last year and thought it was a lovely property! My hubby is a gold member with Marriott and got an upgrade to a bayfront room which came with a stunning view! We watched the Friday cruises leave....very cool! We rented a car with Hertz as they have a garage near the port that you can return vehicles to and a shuttle that will take you over to the port, but there really is no need for a car for a one day stay. I have read this isn't the best area, but I'm from Baltimore and like any place you go, you just need to be aware. The food while pricey at the hotel was VERY good....probably one of the better properties, besides the hotel near LAX that we have dined at. I highly recommend it, ESPECIALLY if you can get it for a great price! :)

AJ- Thank you so much for your links for the restaraunts, I'll be printing off for our stay next month:) We paid $80+taxes a night on priceline for our three night stay.

When we stayed there last year, we had a great time, the mall links the Marriott to the Double Tree and they're also linked by the pool (great views of the city when you're swimming at night!)

I was just about to post the same thing. If Priceline gives you a dollar value to up your bid to, DO NOT put in that amount as you will overpay what you really need to. Add in another free bidding zone and only up your bid by about half. you should win that bid.

Same thing happened as with LOWTYD. They came back with a counter-offer, i came back with a free bidding zone and half that amount and won. $93 + taxes.

Hi, we stayed there pre and post cruise in 2009 and loved it! We had a fabulous view of the bay and the cruise ships and we walked to the shopping area down along the waterfront and had a great time there shopping and eating at some fun restaurants!!! If you don't mind walking, the hotel is very nice, had a nice lunch in the hotel restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Thank you. Also how far ahead of your cruise would you place a bid? Is it ever too early or will it be better closer to departure as they are trying to fill rooms?

Kris

Well, I am not one to wait - and that is only me - I like to have everything planned well ahead of time. so I'm not sure if you'd get a better deal waiting........personally, I like to get my room several months ahead, that way I know I have a room, but that's just me and my overplanning!!!!

Best of luck, let us know how you do!

Leah
