Celebrity supplies baby food and formula?????

Someone just told me they went on a Celebrity cruise a year ago and contacted the cruise in advance and requested their specific formula and baby food and got it! So, I called Celebrity and was told that yes they would do it but it has to be 21 days in advance. We are sailing in 10. I am only posting this b/c I have seen nothing on these boards about this and had I known I would have sent my request in long ago. So for anyone who this applies to, fax your request to the dining coordinator. I dont know if I'm permitted to post the number here, but it is on the website under FAQ's. (The baby food is not mentioned there) Its under special dietary requests.
I am trying it anyway and we'll see what happens. But I have a box packed up with all his formula and food ready to go UPS, but to have it right on the ship is the biggest luxury the cruise can provide.

hdawson,

No, I never thought to, I really didnt think they would do it. Also, I dont think she is really that familiar with Celebrity. Its such a nice service to provide, I just wonder why its not published anywhere.

Would you really be willing to trust that the cruise ship would have the correct formula on hand? I sure wouldn't. It would be like expecting them to get your prescriptions correct. It's way too important an issue to let in the hands of someone other than yourself.

No matter how many people told me the formula would be on hand, I wouldn't trust them.

It is very nice to offer the service - but if I were in management, I wouldn't take on the responsibility. The problems that would occur if there was a mistake are just too big to assume this responsibility.

I have all my prescriptions filled on cruises. That way I can write the cruise off as a medical expense!

And I smuggle my own formula aboard in my carry on luggage.

Don't worry! The ship has plenty of food for a baby eating baby food. I took my son at 8 months and he had bananas, oatmeal and yogurt for breakfast. At dinner the waiter brought me the fruit and veggie of the day pureed! The also have applejuice. I brought powdered formula and bottles, and just washed them by hand on the ship. I also just used warm tap water from the beginning for my son (filtered tap water) and I used this on the cruise as well. He did great! I did bring a few jars of food for when we were off the ship, but he did very well. Ice cream was also a favorite. He didn't want much baby food when he got home though, oh well. Have a great time and the staff will treat your babe like royalty! Remember alot of them are missing their kids and grandkids at home. He made lots of friends!

You can also request a portable crib for you cabin,so you don't need to hall the pack and play. They used the larger sheets, but I brought my own and put it overtop. I also gave him baths in the sink of the bathroom. It was the perfect size. When he got older I brough a blow up bathtub and set it on the floor of the shower. There are lots of good ideas!

I was referring to formula. Once a baby is used to a specific formula, trying to force a change to a complete different brand is asking for major problems. I realize when a child is old enough to eat baby food, one can puree just about anything and feed it to your child, but before that??

I still havent heard back from Celebrity. I am going to bring my own formula. Smudge's mom, you are right, my son is on Enfamil AR and my luck they'll tell me they got the right formula and it will only be regular Enfamil. I was wondering if they would puree food for him, that sounds awesome. He is nine months and we are trying table foods out, but I get so nervous.

What kind of sheets do I need to bring? I thought they were going to give me a pack n play b/c that's what we got in a hotel last month. Should I bring regular crib sheets? (I have heard they use startch in their sheets so I'd rather bring what he is used to, Dreft washed sheets.)
As for powder formula, they just came out with it for this kind and I'm so used to the RTF stuff I cant get into it.

Thanks for everyone's advice. It seems no matter how much I try to prepare its never going to be enough!
