dulcimergirl Posted October 26, 2010 #26 Share Posted October 26, 2010 I recently purchased a Nook, and love it. I can read any book that looks interesting. It's nice to have an entire library along with you, including several magazines and newspapers.. ton's of ebooks for free on the net.. Sure saves a ton of room in my luggage.. Also I can adjust the print later in the day to a bit larger... saves my eyes.
BIG_Steve Posted October 26, 2010 #27 Share Posted October 26, 2010 Hello all, I'm not cruising again until January 2011, but I really like to plan ahead :p. I'm an avid reader but lately have not found anything that has really caught my interest. I'm trying to put a reading list together for my next cruise and wonder if anyone has any suggestions for some good reads to take along? I definitely intend to invest some significant time to reading around the pool deck! If it helps, below are listed a few of my favourite authors: Suzanne Brockmann Nora Roberts Cindy Gerard Elizabeth Adler Thanks! Anastazia A night to remember The Poseidon adventure Moby Dick Secrets of the Bermuda Triangle Andrea Doria: The real story :p
sjcruiser Posted October 26, 2010 #28 Share Posted October 26, 2010 I've been trying to get through several books in my spare time, but school works, and reading the textbook has sidetracked me. I have three books that I purchased in the summer, so I'll probably take the thickest of the three in January.

dillonsmimi Posted October 26, 2010 #31 Share Posted October 26, 2010 I just finished Norris Church Mailer's memoir. All about her life with Norman (as his last wife, half his age). Was very, very good. Never having read anything authored by Mailer, I have checked out his first novel (The Naked and the Dead). Hopefully it will capture my attention and leave a hunger for the balance of his works.

robthens Posted October 27, 2010 #35 Share Posted October 27, 2010 Jimmy Buffet's A Salty Piece of Land research the books before hand as some of the above mentioned are very heavy/emotional If you are refering to my list, not all are "heavy/emotional". Now if you want "heavier", then I can recommend: If I Am Missing or Dead The Road Back Roads I Know This Much is True The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time The thing I like about the Kindel/Amazon is the capability to get a "sample" of a book before buying. I'm sure this is available on other e-readers as well. Barnes and Noble has a wonderful web site.
