Tampa Hotel Airport or Downtown

I am coming in the night before a cruise. I am traveling solo and by the time I get to the hotel there will not be time for sightseeing. So do I go for an airport or downtown hotel?

If it was me, I would chose downtown. Priceline a 3.5* downtown hotel. Try ~$60-65 and if you get it it will be ~$75 total after taxes and fees. The list includes Hyatt, Westin, Marriott, Sheraton and 1 or 2 more. Taxi from the airport to downtown is $25 flat fee. You will be within a mile to Channelside(restaurants, movie theaters and nightlife) and right across the street from the terminal.

I booked thru Priceline and got Hyatt Regency in downtown Tampa for $45.00 plus taxes (total $ 57.99)...not bad...thanks for the tip.
