Unfortunately, I am not going for a cruise, but will be there from 10/29 - 11/1. I hear this is allot going on during Halloween and was wondering what I should "Not Miss". We love to dance and have fun.

I am going with a group of adults without children.;)

We will hitting the casino for sure.

We are staying at the Country Inn & Suites on Magazine Street.

Maybe my cruise in 2012 will be out of NOLA. (fingers crossed)

Thanks for any responses, as they are greatly appreciated.

I Know these boards have given me excellent advice in the past even though it may not be cruise related.

There is always something going on. There will be lots of costumes strolling up and down Bourbon, but then, there usually are.

There is always the Voodoo Festival:

mostly not in the quarter, but some is.

You can check Gambit for events:

Offbeat usually has the most complete music listings:

Boo at the Zoo will be occurring but might be sold out.

And, of course, Sunday night, the NFL game will be broadcast from the Super Dome, Pittsburgh Steelers vs New Orleans Saints. Who Dat!

Thanks so much to everyone that provided their feedback.

I just wanted to say, what an awesome place to be on Halloween:D.

I have never had more fun in my life. Everyone should have it on their bucket list.

Even though the Steelers lost, (reason why I was there for 4 days), we were all treated very welcoming.

I was happy to stimulate their economy this weekend:D.

I hope to be back there again in the future.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just for future sake... if you have a car, check out Haydel's Bakery on Jefferson Highway. Most of the hotels have their flyer in the "What to do" stands. We always head there on our New Orleans trips.

My mom and I also have a tradition of going to Wicked New Orleans (formerly Gargoyles) in the French Quarter. We have wonderful memories, though we never seem to buy very much (though my husband always has suggestions!) :D Last time we went we had a lovely chat with the owner's mother, who was helping out that week.
