car seats in rental cars?

We are going on a cruise this winter with our 18 month old. We are flying into Orlando and will be renting a car to drive to the port. Do we bring our own car seat (we don't really want to store it on the cruise), or can you rent one and are they safe? What are your experiences with certain companies on this?

I have used National and Hertz at Orlando and Atlanta for infant/toddler seat rentals. I added it while making the reservation online each time. At both locations in Orlando, I received the seat was clean and in very good shape. At National in Atlanta, the seat was new, and was brought out in the plastic!!
