Cozumel Pharmacies need RX . . . ?

Last year while in Cozumel, we were able to go to any pharmacy and buy

Z-pac and Amoxicillin without prescription.

 

Is it true that now you have to have prescription? If so, will they accept prescription written from a US doctor?

My understanding is that you need a Mexican Dr. prescription. If the Amoxicillian was on the shelf before the new law, they could sell it. We went to Puerto Penasco, Mex. a couple of months ago and was still able to purchase Amoxicillin.
