paying with points

I am planning on paying for my cruise with AmerExp points. Do travel agents or cruise lines accept them or can I only use AE to book

Certain airlines cooperate with AE and you can transfer your AE points to their frequent flier programs. I believe if you want to use points for a cruise you must go thru the AE travel program.

You have to book the cruise via Am Ex travel using points. You cannot book via a regular travel agent. Just make sure that you're getting a good deal. I've found that using Am Ex points can be a rip off because they charge you so many, many points for their things. You can use points for air travel without going through Am Ex travel, but not for booking cruises.

thank you both. We don't need airfare as we live 45 minutes from port canaveral and after looking into what is available with the points we have the cruise is a really good deal. The only thing that we don't get is any upgrades or perks but that isnt a deal breaker.

You actually can use your points with another agency other than amex travel. AVC is an affillitated company with American Express Travel and they do accept points as well.
