Flight time for leaving Tampa???

I am on the Inspiration in January. I currently am looking at a 530 flight out of Tampa but I do not want to spend this much time in the airport. What is the earliest time I can book a flight out of Tampa??? Thanks

I had a 11:15 flight two weeks ago and had a two hour wait at the airport.

If doing self debarkation, the above post is fairly correect, IF THERE ARE NO DELAYS, which can and do occur.

 

Personally, I would not schedule a flight before 12 noon.... not be rushing off the ship to catch an earlier flight. JMHO

Carnival says no earlier than 11:30. I booked the flight for my first cruise at 11:40. People in my roll call have said that should be more than enough time. Apparently the airport is only 15-20 min away.

I also wouldn't personally take a flight before noon, but Tampa International Airport is indeed only a 15 to 20 minute cab ride away. My experiences in both the city and the airport were very positive; it wasn't a difficult airport by any means.

Tampa, my home airport, is super fast and easy. If you are checking luggage, you could leave the Port, check your luggage, go through security, and arrive at the gate in about 90 minutes. As mentioned, delays do happen so take that with a grain of salt - same goes if you're a slow mover/infrequent airport traveller. I don't check luggage when I travel out of TPA so I usually arrive no earlier than 60 minutes before my flight is scheduled to depart.

 

Some people like to take their time, others want to get home. Hopefully the above information will help.
