tuliplvr Posted November 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Hi- I was able to switch my room from a balcony to an ocean view room on deck 9 which I was told was on the aft section of the ship. I have always stayed "mid ship" so I was wondering if I will feel any more movement on this section of the ship. It was a $500 savings so I hope I made the right decision! PopFla Posted November 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2010 We've had aft rooms on upper decks on both the Wonder and the Magic and the movement has been minimal; we've never experienced any real discomfort. Of course, at this point nobody knows how the Dream will behave in rough weather or high seas; she is, after all, considerably longer, wider, higher and heavier than the present ships. So it will be interesting to hear from passengers on the first few cruises. We aim to find out first-hand; we've got far aft cabins on Dream in May and September of next year. tuliplvr Posted November 1, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Thank you so much for your response! By any chance have any of your aft rooms been right by an elevator.. just realized that is the case and wondering about the noise factor.
PopFla Posted November 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2010 No, we haven't been very close to the elevators, so really can't help there. Sorry.
funfamilyof6 Posted November 8, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2010 While we haven't been aft on a Disney ship, we have been as far aft as you can be on RCCL Freedom of the Seas (which is a very big ship) and we felt nothing. As far as the elevator question, I don't know about the noise factor, we're not that particular when it comes to noise, but it is certainly very handy being close to the elevator.
