President's Cruise

Hi we also are just back from Quest 23rd October Barcelona to Rome cruise and wanted to add a few comments to those already posted. We have sailed Azamara before so we knew what to expect and weren't disappointed! The crew from the captain down were fantastic - nothing was ever too much trouble.

 

We were invited to go shopping with chef Lisa on the first morning which was a lovely start to our holiday. We visited the local fish market and then went for some wine and cheese tasting. A very enjoyable event. Larry and his wife were there and we found them to be charming and friendly.

 

We didn't go on the special trip as we had other plans but those who did had a fantastic time.

 

The food was very good and was always hot which it was not when we were on the Journey last year. My DH missed the steak that used to be on the menu each evening and that was a comment we heard from other passengers who had cruised previously with Azamara.

 

We used the pre and post cruise packages this time and were very impressed with the organisation, transfers etc. our hotel in Barcelona was excellent, however we were disappointed with the Savoy hotel in Rome it was supposed to be 4 star but we felt it was 3 star at best.

 

The wine with meals was great, as was the included Internet package.

 

We had a great holiday one of our best ever! We love; the small ship, being able to dine when and with whom you chose, the fellow passengers who were very friendly etc etc. We cant wait to sail with Azamara again next August.

 

For those who think maybe this was a better cruise because the President was on board - I dont think so our previous cruise was of the same high standard.
