GreenIdScorpio Posted February 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Is it possible for a past passenger guest to bring a guest to the past-passenger party if they are sharing a room? If so, what do I need to do for my non-previous friend to receive an invite?
yst347 Posted February 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Invitations are collected at the door. I have had several friends bring a guest with them. In the past invithations read you and a guest but on our last cruise only our names were on them. In any event things onboard are pretety casual. I doubt anyone would have any trouble "crashing" the past guest party by means of the most transparent excuse. I am not endorsing such behavior, just giving my experience. Starlake666 Posted February 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2005 You will have no problem ! Sometimes they collect the invitations at the door and sometimes they do not. Even if they do have someone collecting them, just say you left yours in your room....trust me...you will have NO problem. It's very casual and a nice party usually. Cotton Posted February 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Everytime this is brought up, I always say that I don't think it's right to try to bring anyone who isn't a past guest to the party. WE have earned this party, and it's one of the very few 'perks' we get. Only the past guest names are on the invitations, and I have seen the CD or another staff member who requests the invitation at the door turn folks away, and even heard one CD say, (smiling all the while) "Sorry, but you'll be invited on your NEXT cruise." On another cruise, I saw a cute little couple headed for the door as I was going in, with "Oh boy, a party!"..... only to be turned away. But they left happy...not realizing it was a private party. I really hope Carnival will stick with that policy. I'm sure the folks traveling with the past guest can find something else to do in that little 45-minute time frame. The casino's open, or there's always that beautiful moonlight on the ocean to go look at.:D
Sundsgn Posted February 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2005 I have actually asked this question at the info desk, if I could bring my fiance, who was sharing a cabin with me (now my husband) and they told me if I was traveling with someone, he was welcome to come with me. I don't know if those policies have changed since January 2004 though.

yst347 Posted February 21, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2005 I agree with cotton and Sundsgn. It has been my experience that a past cruiser may bring his non-past cruiser cabin mate. The past cruiser does not have to attend alone. I find this to be both a curteous and proper policy and I hope it hasn't changed.
bac471 Posted February 21, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2005 I agree with Cotton. I DONT!! Cotton is great and I usually agree with her, but not this time! I have cruised with Carnival over a dozen times. My parents are going with us on their first cruise this summer. It has taken my literally years to get them to go with us on a cruise. I am bringing them to the past guest party. They dont drink but will enjoy the music, appetizers, and the atmosphere. I am not taking them on a cruise to just shuffle them off somewhere while I have a good time. Not my style!!
kstrege Posted February 21, 2005 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2005 I had the same question but for a different reason. My wife is a past cruise customer but no matter what I have done I cannot get Carnival to include her past guest number in our documentation. I have her past guest number and I just plan on taking that to the party with us. She doesn't want what isn't hers, she just wants to enjoy the benefits she is entitled to without going through a bunch of hassle.

Just bring her info to the pursor's desk and they will have an invitation delivered to your cabin.
nowendy Posted February 22, 2005 #11 Share Posted February 22, 2005 yep, that is right. My SIL didn't get her invitation, so she went to the purser's desk and the checked the computer to see that she had sailed before and gave her the invitaion right then and there. She was traveling with her daughter in the same cabin and asked if she could attend and was told that it was no problem. Anyone in the same cabin with a return guest can attend the party. We didn't make this one due to our early seating dinner taking too long, but my friends went and they won the prize. They got a bottle of champagne and got to take a picture with the captain and the officers. The next day they received a 8x10 of the picture in a padded folder. Their picture was on one side and the picture of the Sensation was on the other. i thought this was very nice.
