Cabo car rentals?

The Missus and I are coming to Cabo on the Mercury in early April. I've been to Todos Santos before and liked it, and want to show her the town. Has anyone rented a car at any of the car rental agencies in downtown Cabo? Any positive reviews? Any good deals for a decent compact/subcompact?

 

Please don't mention the agency in the hotel in the Plaza de las Glorias complex -- all we got from them was a runaround and a headache when we tried to rent from them (I think it was Budget or Dollar); they tried to bait-and-switch on us.
