pgphoto Posted November 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2010 How much did you pay for cab fare from the Ft. Lauderdale Airport, stopping at Total Wine, and then to the cruise port? Thanks!
excruisestaff Posted November 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2010 How much did you pay for cab fare from the Ft. Lauderdale Airport, stopping at Total Wine, and then to the cruise port? Thanks! Without your extra stop, taxi's are about $15.00. Sorry, I don't know where Total Wine is, but figure in that the meter will still run while you are shopping there. VermeulT Posted November 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2010 Total Wine is on 17th St not too far from the terminal. There was a thread a year ago about an apparent scandal with cabbies over charging for the ride. From the airport to the cruise terminal - I think it was a fixed rate - maybe $11? Let me see if the thread still exists... It's gone. But on the Florida departures board - they're saying about $15 without the stop at Total Wine. Krazy Kruizers Posted November 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2010 There are 2 security entrances to the piers. The closest one is not near Total Wine which is located in the Harbor Shops. So this means that your taxi will travle a little farther to get to the store, and then the meter will still be running while you shop -- one of you should stay in the taxi while the other one shops -- and then you will enter the port area at the security check point right off 17th Street. So we should place our order beforehand and have it waiting for us when we get there?
VermeulT Posted November 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 10, 2010 So we should place our order beforehand and have it waiting for us when we get there? If you know what you want - that would be the fastest... and then you won't be tempted to buy more. ;)
